My Mission Experience

This Week in Edmond

Hi!

Things are going quite well for me in Edmond. We did lose a really solid investigator last week, just out of the blue, too. It was kind of depressing, but not too much, because I know she will get baptized one day. It was so obvious that she knows everything is true, but I guess she couldn’t overcome opposition from her family.  Anyway, we have a bunch of really good investigators left, and I’m sure we will keep finding more. Edmond has been a really great area for us, and things are going awesome. I am greatful to be so busy all of the time. Thanks for everything that you do and all of the support from home. I love you tons!

Utes Eat BYU’s Dinner

Hey!

Things are going well in Edmond still. The weather has been a lot better. There was a day last week where the high was 64. That was so awesome. It is supposed to be in the 70s and 80s all this week, and then I think is supposed to hit 90 by next Monday. I don’t know, the weather always fluctuates here.

We are still teaching tons of really cool people, and things are going well. I really don’t have too much to say. Oh, this weekend I get to go to Ft. Sill, an Army base in Lawton, to teach the servicemen there. That should be fun, then at the end of next week is another Leadership Training Meeting for 2 days, then general conference. It will be October before I know it.

We had ward conference in Edmond 1st ward yesterday and President Taylor spoke during 2nd hour, although we didn’t get to hear him because we had to go to the University Ward’s sacrament meeting.

Elder Callahan is doing really well, and he is a very good teacher. He went to the U of U for a year before his mission, so we were both pretty happy to hear they they beat BYU 54-10. Our dinner appointment last night almost kicked us out because we brought up the game. Actually, They said they both went to BYU and we told them that we were going to the U, and they said, “We were getting along really well, until now. I think you’re going to have to leave.” Elder Callahan then said, “Well, that doesn’t change the score of the game.” Haha. There are some really cool members here.

Well, I’ve gotta go. Love you tons! See you soon!

Birthday Money!

Hey people!

Things are going great here! The weather cooled down a ton, and it should be fairly cool for the next while. Hopefully, for the rest of the year. Elder Callahan is an awesome guy, and all ready a great missionary. He is going to have a great mission. I am really excited for him.

Well, some interesting stuff. I got some birthday money from both sets of grandparents, and I spent most of it because I needed a new pair of flip flops, plus I wanted a new pair of running shoes. The running shoes were expensive and I didn’t want to spend that kind of money. We happened to be biking down the street next to this awesome store, called Summit, and they were having ridiculous sales for Labor Day weekend. The store is a climbing/backpacking/outdoor store, and they only sell really high quality stuff. For example, $350 sleeping bags that are lighter than air, but will keep you warm down to 20 degrees. I wanted this pair of shoes called Vibrams. They were 45% off and then I bought a pair of North Face flip flops that were 40% off, and they are the comfiest flip flops I have ever owned. That was pretty exciting.

Our investigators are continuing to progress, and we picked up another ridiculously solid investigator this past week. There is a cool story behind that, but I will share it another time.

Well, love you tons and tons and 100 pounds!

Love,
Elder Peper
