My Mission Experience

Ridiculously Solid Investigators

Hey everyone!

This week has been absolutly incredible. I cannot even begin to describe how awesome it was. We have 3 ridiculously solid investigators, and they are all member referrals. It’s incredible. One is  is a college student. She was talking to a member here, and he introduced her to the church. She has been steadily progressing and even has a baptismal date! It’s really cool to hear what she has to say, she lets us know exactly what she is thinking and what questions she has. She came to church yesterday, and said that she loved it!

Another investigator that we have is coming to the University Ward with his wife, who is a member, and they are enjoying it. He has great questions as well, and a sincere desire to know.

Finally, yesterday, we got a call from a member, who is not from here, but she is staying at the Ronald McDonald house by the hospital in OKC. She told us about this guy who was also staying at the Ronald McDonald house who she was talking to about the gospel. We got there last night, because he wanted his son to meet us and maybe get a blessing. We talked with the Dad. He told us that his son recently had an accident, and had to have his leg amputated. And that’s why they were at the hospital. So, we talked to him a little bit and this is what he said to us: “I want to be the spiritual leader of my home. I want to be the person who my kids come to and I can ask God what to tell them. I want to have dinner as a family at the table with the TV off. I want to say prayers as a family. I want to have family Bible Study.” He also said (this is the icing on the cake), “I don’t like churches where you just show up on Sunday and leave. I want to be in a church where we can be involved.” I was wondering what dimension I had entered because I’ve never met someone so prepared before. It was incredible. We committed him to be baptized, and he said yes. We didn’t set a specific date because he lives in another ward. His only concern is that our church is all the way in Edmond. He was pretty excited when we told him there is a building in his town. So, he will be here with his family for the next couple months, staying at the hospital, and we are going to teach him what he needs to know. We are going to visit with him and his family on Tuesday evening. This was one of the coolest experiences on my mission!

Love you guys!
