Elder Peper

My Mission Experience

Confined to the Apartment (due to weather and flu)

Riley advised us today that they received 10″ of snow last Tuesday and were told they couldn’t drive or ride bikes during the storm. They were told to stay home for 3 days. During that time, he came down with the flu which then turned into bronchitis (as it always does with him). He has been very sick since Wednesday and finally went to the doctor. He got something for the flu but was not given anything for the bronchitis.  He says he’s still coughing excessively and will have to try and get a prescription this week if he doesn’t get any better.  He said he hasn’t been that sick in a very long time.  Please keep him in your prayers in hopes he will feel better soon!

Meanwhile, Elders Rivas and Nordstrom stayed with Elders Peper and Sarkady for the week.  They ventured out a little during the storm and Riley provided a few photos (posted below).  The forecast for OKC is another 6-10″ of snow this Wednesday.

It snowed 10" on Tuesday, February 1.

Elder Rivas exploring the tundra.

We were starving and couldn't find anywhere that was open. Then we saw this gleaming light in the distance: Chinese Heaven. Left to Right: Elder Sarkady, Nordstrom

During the snow we got bored and played a card game where you had to eat nasty stuff if you lost. Elder Rivas won.

  1. I’m so sorry you’re sick Elder Peper! Please go to the doctor for that cough (how do you like TWO moms lecturing you!? 🙂 Maybe it worked out well that it snowed and you were confined anway when you got feeling crummy. You’re in our prayers for a speedy recovery!
