My Mission Experience

Howdy – Jan. 18 Letter

This week has been really. good. We started out by getting 2 referrals from the zone leaders. It is a man named Arthur. We taught him twice last week and we were able to set a baptismal date with him. That was really exciting. He seems really excited and everything. He seems intent on doing what is necessary to find out if the Book of Mormon is true or not, so that’s really good. It’s something that we’re really excited about.

Elder Sarkady is doing really good. He is a really good teacher, especially for a greenie. I’m pretty excited about that. He seems to like being here in Oklahoma a lot, and he seems to like what it is like to be a missionary. All of those are awesome things and they make life easier for the both of us.

Tomorrow we have a meeting with all of the other trainers and all of the other new missionaries that came out with Elder Sarkady. This meeting is going to be in Moore, which is where the mission HQ is. I haven’t been to that meeting since I was a brand new missionary, but I remember it was pretty fun. So, I’m looking forward to that. Also, there is another LTM meeting coming up. The LTM is the four day meeting that I went to two months ago. That is a long four days, but it’s really cool and it’s an awesome meeting and I’m looking forward to it.

P-Day yesterday was awesome. (We are emailing today because the library was closed for MLK day.) Anyway. P-Day was cool because we got to start playing basketball at noon. The whole zone (pretty much) came to Norman for basket ball and we played for several hours. It was really tiring, but it was really fun. I had a blast. There were so many people there. A lot of missionaries went to a soccer field and played soccer there, but a bunch of us stayed to play basketball. That was cool.

Oh, last night, we went to a Less-Actives house. She is coming back to church, and decided that she would let us teach the missionary lessons to her. She also has a daughter who is not baptized. So that’s cool as well. I don’t know a whole lot about them yet, but I will update you when I get to know them more.

Well, thanks for everything that you do. I love you tons. I will see you soon.
